Classroom Expectations
Text Box: Purpose of the Program:

Computer Science courses (Visual Basic or Java) are designed to engage you in a field of study where you learn a programming language. The programming projects you will do provide a depth of learning that allows you to become a better problem solvers.

Attendance:

Class time is valuable. Be ready for class to begin. Plan ahead, allow yourself enough time before class starts to take care of other business.

Students will be allowed one tardy each quarter. Tardies 24 will result in a 30 minute detention. Students exceeding four tardies in a quarter will receive an office referral. Tardies exceeding 10 minutes will be considered an absence. Tardies will be excused if you have a pass from the office or another teacher.

Students must come to class with all needed materials. Students returning to their lockers for materials will be considered tardy.

Any student, regardless of their grade in the class, who exceeds 12 absences in the class may not be eligible to earn credit.

Assignments:

Clearly identify your assignments with your name, section assigned (3.1), lab name (Schedule), and lab number (LA 1.1). You are required to organize your notes and assignments in a three-ring binder.

All assignments must be turned in on the date due at the beginning of the period or immediately after checking them in class. I will give you timelines for major project deadlines.

Individuals with excused absences will have one day for each day of absence to get makeup work turned in for grading. Before turning in this type of work, please write MAKEUP across the top of your paper. Keep me informed regarding your progress!
Text Box: Grading:

Extra HELP:

I am more than glad to help you before or after school, during the lunch hour or my preparation period, or call my home in the evenings (7838196). I am more willing to provide extra help to students who work diligently during the regular class period than those who do not pay attention nor make an honest effort to learn during the regular class period.

To ensure that we both have free time, you may wish to schedule an appointment.
